Sabic is showcasing sustainable and circular material offerings for consumer goods and home appliances from October 19-26 at K 2022, a trade fair for the plastics and rubber industries, in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company says it is demonstrating the trends in the market across four areas: waste reduction, circularity, use of renewable feedstock and enhanced consumer appeal. Many have been developed in collaboration with value chain partners and align with Sabic’s Trucircle program to accelerate the move toward real circularity without compromising performance and cost, according to the company.
Sabic polymer offerings on display include food containers made with certified renewable polymer from bio-based feedstock, active charcoal mask packaging and a computer mouse using mechanically recycled ocean plastic, a sparkling water maker produced with a bio-composite reportedly consisting of close to 100% renewable materials and Mattel toys incorporating second-generation renewable feedstock,
