Each year, Chemical Processing seeks our readers’ opinions about which vendors you most prefer in more than 40 categories. The information gathered helps us to better understand the products and services you’re most interested in to prepare meaningful content for you in future issues of the magazine. It also provides a “badge of honor” that the vendors highly cherish. It’s their opportunity to boast a bit because they’ve made it as one of your favorites. And, it gives you insight into how your peers view what the vendors have to offer.
The results can also serve as a handy tool to help you select a particular piece of new equipment. To participate in the 2008 Readers’ Choice Awards survey, click here. As an incentive, an 80GB iPod Classic will be awarded to a randomly selected survey participant. Please share the link with your colleagues so that we are able to collect even more input. Survey results will appear in the July issue of Chemical Processing. We’ll also announce the name of the winner of the iPod Classic.
This year’s survey marks the fifth consecutive year it has been offered. The survey is entirely reader-directed as no names of manufacturers or their products are listed. Leaving the names out eliminates any bias in the results. It’s up to you to tell us your preferences about everything from bearings, boilers, and compressors to process automation systems, seals, and valves. If you’d like to brush up on the categories before taking our survey, use one of the following links to peruse Readers’ Choice Awards surveys from previous years:
In addition to those of you who respond through the link provided in this column, readers will receive e-mail notices and electronic newsletters to encourage their participation in the Readers’ Choice Awards survey. The rankings published in the magazine will show the percentage of total responses in each category that a particular company received. A minimum of at least 5% of the votes in a category is required for the company to be entitled to be listed. Vendors that receive scores within 3% of each other are considered a statistical tie.
We also hope you will take a few extra minutes to provide your comments about anything related to the survey. Perhaps there’s a category that’s not included, but you’d like to see it in next year’s version. Or maybe you’ve got extra insight into one of the vendors or products that you’d like to share with everyone. Whatever it may be, we’d like to hear from you, so please don’t skip the comments section of the survey. Reader response to the survey has grown every year since its inception in 2004.
