Falcon Electric to Host SCADA Protection Strategies Event at ISA Automation Week

Nov. 1, 2013
Company will share expertise on how to protect SCADA systems against costly power outages and ensure security.

Falcon Electric Inc. will host two attendee networking hub theater presentations on protecting SCADA systems during the ISA Automation Week Technology and Solutions 2013 event in Nashville Nov. 5-7. In addition, Falcon will host an "Eat with the Experts" lunch on Nov. 5 from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.

In the first speaking session on Nov. 6 entitled, "Protecting Automated Systems in Harsh Environments," Michael A. Stout, Falcon’s vice president of engineering, will discuss how to eliminate costly downtime and weak links related to power problems. The presentation will review how to maximize the availability of AC-based SCADA and PLC-based control, automation and monitoring systems, especially those operating in harsh -30°C to 65°C environments.

During the second presentation on Nov. 7, Stout will discuss how without reliable power vital operations are unreliable and unsecured. SCADA systems of all kinds are subjected to some of the harshest environments in the world, compromising security and functionality. This presentation will discuss the costly power and security issues for today’s automated systems and how to best plan, select and implement a power protection infrastructure that can withstand the rigors of harsh environments without sacrificing power quality and uptime.
