Process automation provider Endress+Hauser has acquired a stake in Finesse Solutions to strengthen its position in biotechnology, Endress+Hauser said Oct. 18.

The previous majority shareholder, Skymoon Ventures, will hold an equal stake to Endress+Hauser. The company's staff of about 50 will maintain its ownership in the company. Endress+Hauser will elect two representatives to the board of directors, which Barbara Paldus will continue to chair.

Finesse Solutions is a U.S. company that develops, produces and distributes sensors, hardware and software for bioprocess engineering. The acquisition allows Endress+Hauser to gain experience in the biotech field without neglecting its core business of measurement instrumentation, said Klaus Endress, CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group
