Process automation companies express their commitment to the WirelessHART standard and announce ongoing product releases in statements issued during the HART Communication Foundation press conference at the ISA EXPO 2009 (Oct. 6-8, Houston). Executives from ABB, Emerson Process Management, Endress+Hauser, Pepperl+Fuchs and Siemens address the dynamic influence WirelessHART technology is having on the process industry and their expectations for its adoption by end users.
ABB Automation - Gareth Johnston, Global Wireless Product Manager.ABB plans to implement HART 7 functionality in many of our measurement products, including pressure, flow, temperature and analytical. We expect that HART 7 with WirelessHART will be adopted in the process industry and plan to release HART 7 WirelessHART devices in 2010.
Emerson Process Management – Mark Schumacher, President Pressure / CPS Business UnitEmerson has introduced 15 WirelessHART products so far – most recently, the Smart Wireless THUM Adapter, wireless position monitor, and contacting conductivity transmitter – and is committed to releasing many more products, including a vibrating fork liquid level switch, that will help the process industry move forward with a greater ability to solve challenges and leverage wireless benefits for measurement and control applications.
Endress+Hauser - Frank Hils, Corporate Director Projects and Solutions.
Endress+Hauser has started to deliver WirelessHART technology, consulting, hardware and software alongside instrumentation for level, pressure, flow, analytical and temperature measurement in 2010. The scope of supply will grow over the next months and is suited as upgrade for existing installations as well as for new plants.
Pepperl+Fuchs - Mark Kessler, Director Business Unit Components + Technology.
It is a proven technology in many installations around the world and is integrated in HART capable multi-variable field devices from Pepperl+Fuchs including CorrTran MV, HART Multiplexers and HART Loop Converters. HART 7 including WirelessHART will open up new applications for many users and as a market leader in open infrastructure for field communication, Pepperl+Fuchs is committed to providing users with a wide range of communication options including WirelessHART.
Siemens- Hans-Georg Kumpfmüller, Division President for Sensors and Communication.
Siemens expects that HART 7 will be well accepted in the process industry. We will use HART 7 in all technologies of field instrumentation. This includes of course our shortly coming wireless products. These products will complement our portfolio and enable us to provide suitable solutions for specific applications. For more information, visit:
