Envirosight has launched a new model of the Rovver X crawler that features a remotely operated camera elevator accessory. Able to be positioned anywhere on the unit's 7.1-inch vertical travel range, the camera allows users to inspect pipes from 6 to 72 inches in diameter and is capabale of centerline viewing in pipes up to 48 inches in diameter.
Made of aluminum and stainless steel, the new camera elevator plugs directly into the crawler’s camera port and is controlled directly from the Rovver X pendant. The lift accepts the Rovver X pan/tilt/zoom camera or the DigiSewer side-scanning camera, as well as any Rovver X auxiliary lamp.
With the Rovver X, operators can control inspections, view and record digital video, log observations, generate reports, and link directly to asset-management software. They can add side-scanning and laser profiling or view data from onboard sensors, automate tasks with macros, and measure defects onscreen.
Featuring 12 wheel options, the Rovver X offers six-wheel drive with proportional steering navigates past obstacles, while its overlapping wheels are able to effectively climb offsets. Its reel monitors cable tension optically to prevent slack and minimize resistance, allowing one-man operation.
