Newport Electronics offers the new wSeries Wi-Fi transmitters, which communicate on a standard Wi-Fi network for facilities with existing networks or new installations. The wSeries transmitters are suited for analog voltage and current (0-10V, 4-20mA), temperature from digital sensors and dual thermocouples, humidity, and barometric pressure.
Users can view charts and graphs and monitor and record readings from transducers over an Ethernet network or the Internet from computers, tablets, or smart phones with a Web browser. Alarms can be set with e-mail notifications sent to a single user or to a group distribution list, as well as via text messages to a cell phone. Designed for demanding industrial applications and harsh outdoor environments, the unit’s electronics are protected in a rugged weatherproof, polycarbonate NEMA4/IP65 rated housing.
wSeries Wi-Fi sensors can run on batteries or AC power. Battery versions come with two ordinary alkaline C-cell batteries that can last for two years depending on frequency of readings. AC versions come with a universal adapter that operates on any voltages from 110 to 240 VAC and include one alkaline AA backup battery.
