ABB introduces its latest generation of process controller and indicator instrumentation. Called ControlMaster, the new line-up includes four models that are designed to be highly intuitive and powerful, as well as easy to operate. A comprehensive portfolio of capabilities makes these units suitable for a wide spectrum of industries.

Flexible I/O capabilities can simplify model selection. Each ControlMaster model can be scaled to suit basic to advanced application requirements by the addition of plug-and-play function keys. ControlMaster's full-color thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display clearly shows process information. Menus and operator prompts display in full text.

Formats include dual-loop displays and historical trending. A sampling of the controllers' functionality includes dead-time compensation; adaptive, predictive, and dual-loop control; cascade, feedforward and ratio control; math and logic; totalization; delay timers; and problem-solving diagnostics.
The new units offer flexible communications, including Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus protocols. Enclosures provide IP66 and NEMA4X environmental protection.
