IChemE Introduces New Carbon Capture Journal

Sept. 1, 2021
New publication from the Institution of Chemical Engineers covers all aspects of carbon capture research.

New IChemE journal

“Carbon Capture, Science and Technology” is the title of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)’s new journal covering all aspects of carbon capture research. Aiming to be the leading peer-reviewed journal specifically for carbon capture research and technology development, “Carbon Capture, Science and Technology” (CCST) provides an important platform for the publication of research countering some of the challenges identified in IChemE’s position on climate change, according to the organization.

This latest journal in IChemE’s portfolio reportedly focuses on publishing top-quality content looking to ensure that future generations live in an increasingly carbon-neutral environment. Input from a diverse range of disciplines is encouraged.

Published in partnership with Elsevier, CCST will be free to access. For the first year, the author processing charge (APC) will be waived, highlighting a commitment to ensure maximum exposure for authors, according to IChemE.

“Carbon capture science and technologies are vital for a green and sustainable future. Technological advances in this area will spearhead our campaign for net-zero carbon emission to combat climate change by neutralizing the negative impacts from using fossil fuels, which are anticipated to remain a key energy source in the next 50 years,” says editor-in-chief, Professor Chunfei Wu, Queen's University Belfast. “CCST is the first fully open access journal in its field and will provide a unique platform for international scholars to disseminate cutting-edge high impact research in the broad field of carbon capture.”

Authors are encouraged to submit papers for review ahead of publication in the journal as well as for two special issues: "New Trends in Membrane Technology for Carbon Capture" and "Solid Sorbents for Carbon Capture."
