The National Safety Council is accepting nominations for the 2015 NSC Rising Stars of Safety, presented by DuPont Sustainable Solutions. Awarded annually, the recognition honors individuals younger than 40 who have a track record of demonstrating leadership, innovation and involvement in their organization's safety culture while promoting continuous safety improvement in the workplace.
The Council invites organizations to submit a NSC Rising Stars of Safety nomination on behalf of an employee demonstrating safety leadership through practical examples of:
- Leadership attributes that set the nominee apart from his or her peers
- Initiating and/or leading a successful safety initiative with measurable results
- Engaging peers and transforming the safety culture of the organization
- Valuing safety as a critical part of business operations
"The safety movement is fueled by new ideas, new insights and new leaders," says Deborah A.P. Hersman, president and CEO of the National Safety Council. "Each class of NSC Rising Stars is a down payment on saving lives and preventing injuries in workplaces around the world."
Selected NSC Rising Stars of Safety will be featured in Safety+Health magazine and receive discounted admission to the 2015 NSC Congress & Expo, Sept. 26 – Oct. 2 in Atlanta. Honorees receive exclusive access to workshops and events. Organizations can nominate multiple candidates, but only one honoree per company can be chosen.
Candidates can be nominated online at www.nsc.org/risingstars by May 15, 2015.
