A process safety conference called Hazards is heading to Scotland in May 2014 and will address major offshore and onshore themes, including shale gas technologies, human factors, safety culture and leadership.
The event, called Hazards 24 and organized by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), follows another disappointing few months for the process industries with almost 100 deaths and nearly 400 injuries reported worldwide in 2013.
The event will take place May 7-9 at Scotland’s Edinburgh International Conference Centre It will provide an opportunity to share best practices, discuss past experiences and highlight the latest developments to minimize the risks.
The organizers have also announced a call for papers covering 18 themes including legislation, plant layout and environmental protection. Abstracts should be submitted by Oct. 7. This year, there is also the opportunity to host a workshop on day one of the event.
