I want to alert you to another upcoming learning opportunity. The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) is holding its 2011 Security Conference Tues., March 1 - Wed. March 2 at the InterContinental Houston Hotel in Houston.
I won't be speaking at this one, but there will be a number of excellent speakers, topics and the opportunity to look at some of the latest technologies available for plant and facility security. The keynote speaker will be Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland, a national security commentator and columnist, who appears weekly on a number of TV, online and national radio programs. McFarland held national security posts in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan Administrations. There will also be speakers from major petrochemical and chemical companies, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Here some other important topics to look for at this conference:
• Washington Update
• DHS Updates for Petrochemical & Refining Industries: Upcoming Regs, & Voluntary Programs
• U.S. Coast Guard Updates for Petrochemical & Refining Industries: MTSA II, CFATS Harmonization & TWICTM
