Germanow-Simon Corp. completed a $3.3 million upgrade to the company’s facilities in Rochester, N.Y. The renovation and expansion will help the G-S Companies serve customers’ needs for future expanded production capacity.
The company expects the project to add 25 jobs in the next five years.
The project, which began in September 2011, included doubling the space for injection molding and quality assurance operations and improving the functionality and cleanliness for those spaces..
As part of the expansion, Germanow-Simon now consists of two operating companies called G-S Plastic Optics and Tel-Tru Manufacturing.
G-S Plastic Optics specializes in the custom design and manufacture of precision polymer optics for use in LED illumination systems, imaging, scanning and detection applications worldwide. The company has in-house capability to provide diamond-turned and injection-molded prototypes, production injection molding, multilayer thin-film and metallic reflective coatings and integrated optical solutions.
Tel-Tru Manufacturing supplies bimetal thermometers, pressure gauges and transmitters.
