The five-person U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board will be left with two members as the head of the federal agency submits her resignation, according to an article from Bloomberg. Katherine Lemos reportedly cites a loss of confidence in the independent agency’s ability to focus on its mission. Lemos is a Trump nominee who was confirmed to a five-year term in 2020.
According to Bloomberg, Lemos’ resignation is effective July 22. Bruce Walker, a senior advisor to Lemos, also tendered his resignation. The White House reportedly had not responded to a request for comment as of the publication of the article.
