Renovated B&P processing lab
After acquiring the assets of Littleford Day, B&P Process Equipment completed renovation of its processing lab known as the Technology Center. The space improvements along with additional equipment assets from Littleford are producing positive results, according to the company.
Ranging in capacity from five to 150 liters, five jacketed plow mixers from Littleford’s Kentucky headquarters joined B&P’s facility in Saginaw. The largest unit, a KM150 continuous mixer, was converted from volumetric to gravimetric control, reportedly optimizing test results for customers.
The Technology Center consists of 16,000 square feet of dynamic space that is constantly evolving and improving to develop new technology, equipment and techniques to make familiar equipment more productive, according to the company. In addition to maximizing space, B&P improved efficiencies throughout the spaces, such as housing lab utilities like hot oil, hot water, steam and cool water in multiple bays.
The Technology Center is an added value for clients considering B&P equipment purchases. It houses well-developed test cells where customers can work hand in hand with process engineers and technicians to evaluate equipment and processes under controlled, safe, pilot plant conditions. Every year, the Technology Center conducts hundreds of confidential equipment and process demonstrations for customers in every branch of the processing industry, according to the company
