NSF Releases New “Science of Innovation” Video Series

Six new “Science of Innovation” stories feature trailblazing scientists and engineers from across the country.
The National Science Foundation, in partnership with NBC Learn and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, releases a new set of educational videos in its “Science of Innovation” series. The video series, which launched in 2013, explores the creative process that leads to innovation. The videos align to state and national education standards and will soon include lesson plans and activities that promote STEM study in the classroom, according to a news release from NSF.
The video series is narrated by NBC News and MSNBC anchor Kate Snow and is available through NBC affiliates and for free online at several sites including NSF.gov. Six new episodes feature 3-D bioprinting, origami structures, friction-stir welding, motion control for virtual reality, micro-fabrication for cochlear implants and using viruses to make batteries.
