The American Shale & Manufacturing Partnership will introduce itself to the public Nov. 19 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., prior to a panel discussion on the state of manufacturing in the U.S. The partnership includes members from manufacturing, labor, environment, academia and business organizations.
The introduction of the group will be followed by a panel discussion of experts and business leaders who will discuss the importance of developing policies that encourage the realization of a manufacturing renaissance and its impact on communities, job opportunities and workforce issues.
Margot Anderson, executive director of the Energy Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center, will moderate a discussion with several panelists. Some of the panelists include Karen Alderman Harbert, president and CEO, Institute for 21st Century Energy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Lawrence D. Sloan, president and CEO, Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates; Jay Timmons, president and CEO, National Association of Manufacturers.
