ATI's International Corrosion Conference To Take Place In Alberta

May 24, 2011
Event will address metals issues in process industries.

ATI will host its eighth International Corrosion Solutions conference at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada, Sept. 25 through Sept. 30. The conference will offer attendees a metals-focused forum to address problems and issues faced in CPI, oil and gas, and nuclear energy environments.

The conference will feature papers on stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium, zirconium and other metals. Industry professionals will participate in more than 40 presentations and panel sessions. Keynote speakers include ATI President and CEO Richard Harshman and Gene Liening, senior materials engineer for The Dow Chemical Co. Other processing companies that plan to attend the conference include Akzo Nobel, BP Chemicals, Celanese, DuPont, Eastman Chemical, ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell.

For the first time, the conference will include a nuclear materials summit. The summit, co-sponsored by Nuclear Fabrication Consortium, will follow the model of previous Corrosion Solutions conferences that addressed materials, fabrication and corrosion issues for both the existing nuclear fleet and new nuclear construction. When asked why the NFC was excited to co-sponsor the summit, Nate Ames NFC Director stated “The CSC11™ conference and Nuclear Materials Summit offer a unique opportunity for energy industry experts and manufacturers to share experiences with those from the processing industry.”
