By Chemical Processing Staff
Rembe Inc. names Till Westerbarkey as its new CEO. Westerbarkey has extensive worldwide explosion safety and business development experience from his many years with Rembe.
Most recently he was managing director of Rembe Latin America. Westerbarkey also worked as deputy chief business development Officer in Germany.
Westerbarkey follows retiring president and CEO Dr. Gerd Mayer. Mayer is the founding president of the company and oversaw Rembe’s start-up and growth in the combustible dust explosion safety market. In addition to establishing a U.S. headquarters facility, Mayer spearheaded the Rembe ISO Certification project to a successful conclusion. Mayer will stay on with the company in a consulting capacity until April 30, 2023.
Mayer was instrumental in helping flesh out the concept for Chemical Processing's "Combustible Dust Roundtable" series, which features a panel discussion with industry experts. The panel offers insights on key challenges and provides practical guidance on how to identify, evaluate and effectively address combustible-dust hazards. Mayer served as a panelist on a number of roundtables.
