Air Liquide and Trillium Energy Solutions said Sept. 28 they have signed an agreement to develop a hydrogen supply network for heavy-duty truck applications.
Under the agreement, the companies would produce 150 tons per day of hydrogen and establish a refueling infrastructure capable of supplying more than 2,000 heavy-duty vehicles.
The partnership will also explore the deployment of an extensive hydrogen retail network, starting with the initial deployment of hydrogen stations along a strategic trucking route.
Through the initiative, the companies are looking to help truck OEMs in their efforts to transition to low-carbon and zero-emission vehicles.
Air Liquide’s role in the partnership includes hydrogen production, liquefaction, transportation and storage. Trillium will operate and manage alternative fueling stations, as well as its nationwide infrastructure footprint to deploy a hydrogen network for retail consumers.
