Vektan Chemical to Open First U.S. Manufacturing Site Near Houston
Dec. 30—Vektan Chemical, a synthetic wax company based in Uzbekistan, is coming to the Houston area.
The company purchased a 35,000-square-foot facility in Hitchcock, the Hitchcock Economic Development Corporation recently announced.
"We appreciate the creation of new jobs in our city. The company will be one of the top employers in Hitchcock and will have a $900,000 positive fiscal and economic impact on the City over a 10-year period," Hitchcock City Manager Marie Gelles said.
The manufacturing site will be the first in the U.S. for Vektan Chemical, also known as VT Chemical.
Vektan Chemical, which was founded in 2016, is planning on investing more than $7 million in "capital expenditures," a news release said.
"We sincerely appreciate the support provided by HEDC, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, who introduced us to GHP, throughout our site selection process. We look forward to becoming a long-term partner and a positive contributor to Hitchcock's industrial community," VT Chemical General Manager Anvar Turdibaev said.
