Hydraulic Institute to Offer Variable Speed Drives Webinar

Dec. 9, 2013

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) and Pump Systems Matter (PSM) have announced the dates of the upcoming variable speed drives four-part webinar series. The opening session will take place Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. Larry Stanley, regional applications engineer, ABB Inc. and Kevin Fedor, variable frequency drives sales manager, Schneider Electric - Square D, will lead the series. Participants who complete the full series earn four professional development hour (PDH) credits directly from HI.

Webinar participants will learn how to improve pump systems reliability when using variable speed drives (VSDs). The series will explain how VSDs may be used to accommodate duty cycles with variable flow and head as well as applications to avoid. Energy optimization, life cycle reduction, single-phase to three-phase power conversion and inrush current reduction will be discussed in the series.

Advance registration is required and HI members and standards partners receive a 25 percent discount off the regular registration fee for the series.
