Remaining questions to cover topics related to energy efficiency, causes of pump failure, and power calculations.

ITT Goulds Pumps has announced that over 5,000 people representing 141 countries have answered questions for its World of Pumps Quiz. The online series of questions is designed to raise awareness of the role industrial pumps play in modern life while generating company donations to teach first aid and CPR around the world. Additional questions will be posted biweekly until April 1.

The World of Pumps Quiz, which began Nov. 15, runs for 20 weeks. Spotlighting pumps as the "heart of industry," ITT Goulds Pumps has structured the promotion to benefit the global Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Program, sponsored by the American Heart Association and its global partners.

The event culminates on April 10 with Pump Appreciation Day, an international celebration of pumps. During the celebration, ITT Goulds Pumps will donate money for every correct answer to the ECC Program, an international education effort that teaches first aid, including the recommended method for hands-only CPR.

Question six of the 10-question quiz launched Monday, Jan. 23. Remaining questions will cover topics related to energy efficiency, causes of pump failure and power calculations. To enter the quiz, participants go to www.worldofpumpsquiz.com. Contestants can answer as many or as few questions as they like, and sign up to receive automatic notifications when the next question is posted.
