White House Backs Efforts To Boost Cybersecurity In Chemical Sector

Experts believe the current federal guidance on cybersecurity in vulnerable industries is likely to lead to more regulatory action, according to an article from Bloomberg Law. Most current guidance and requirements are non-binding, but many attorneys reportedly expect the government will shift to more regulation followed by enforcement actions.
The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has identified rising threats to 16 critical infrastructure sectors, according to Bloomberg. The White House most recently turned its attention to defense gaps in the chemical sector, advancing its “Chemical Action Plan” in October.
