Company on its way to achieving Department of Energy program goals.

Spirax Sarco’s most recent annual report showed a cumulative improvement in energy intensity of 16 percent against its baseline year, the company said.

The achievement means steam system management company Spirax Sarco is nearing its goal to reduce corporatewide energy intensity in its manufacturing operations by 25 percent in 10 years. The company has joined 100 other industrial firms in a voluntary pledge to meet such standards as part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Buildings, Better Plants program.

The Better Building, Better Plants Program is a national leadership initiative that challenges manufacturers to make energy efficiency a sound business practice, establish strong energy management plants, benefit from the savings and provide a model for others.
