Meggitt Sensing Systems Offers Vibration Training Course
March 8, 2011
Online sessions feature videos on vibration use in condition monitoring.
Meggitt added a series of narrated presentations about vibration monitoring to the company’s wilcoxon.com knowledge desk. The Meggitt Sensing Systems industrial vibration training course videos were designed to explain vibration monitoring to beginner and intermediate users and help them understand how to derive the benefits of vibration analysis. The industrial vibration training course can help maintenance and reliability professionals learn the fundamentals of vibration analysis in an online format. Participants have the opportunity to learn how vibration monitoring can be used for condition monitoring of fans, motors, pumps, blowers, compressors, chillers, gearboxes and mixers to reduce failure rates in the field. The free industrial vibration training course is a series of seven short videos dealing with progressively advanced vibration monitoring techniques. Module 1 starts by explaining the basic principles of vibration and how it is detected and monitored. Module 2 introduces the types of transducers and how to select the appropriate sensor. Module 3 goes more in depth on monitoring techniques. Modules 4 through 7 discuss advanced diagnostic techniques for faults commonly detected through vibration monitoring, such as unbalance, bearing defects and stator problems. Modules 1 through 5 are currently live online. The final two modules, 6 and 7, will go online in the coming months. Videos can be watched streaming online or can be downloaded to watch offline at a more convenient time. For more information, visit http://www.wilcoxon.com.
