Deacom President Named American Business Awards Finalist

June 8, 2009
Jay Deakins, president of enterprise software solution provider Deacom, Inc., was named a finalist in the Executive of the Year - Computer Software category of The 2009 American Business Awards. This year more than 2,600 entries from companies in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories. Deakins, who founded Deacom in 1995, single-handedly programmed and sold the DEACOM Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software System for chemical manufacturers. Today, Deacom has more than 100 installations throughout North America and a professional staff occupying 5,000 square feet of office space in Wayne, Pa. The company counted 2008 as a milestone year - despite a slowing economy, Deacom achieved nearly 75% growth in sales compared with 2007. "Our dedication to providing an industry-specific, fully integrated enterprise software solution continues to fuel Deacom's success," Deakins says. "It's an honor to be recognized for that success among so many respected businesses." Winners will be announced June 22 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Six hundred executives from across the U.S. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network.
