Company says ratings considered among the highest third-party certifications in the industry.
Warren Rupp Inc. says its full line of ATEX compliant Sandpiper Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps and Tranquilizer surge suppressors meet ATEX EC-Type and Type Examination Certification safety standards for potentially hazardous environments as set forth by the European Parliament and Council of the European Community.
Having the EC-Type ATEX Certification permits the use of ATEX-compliant Sandpiper pumps in all hazardous locations for both nonelectrical and electrical options, such as integral solenoids and pulse output kits. KEMA Quality BV was the assigned notified body for the Sandpiper line and conducted all testing and certification for the project. The company approves all Sandpiper pumps to be completely groundable conductive and safe for spark-free operation in hazardous locations.
The EC-Type and Type Examination ATEX Certification for Sandpiper is suitable for the paints, solvents, coatings and chemical markets. The spark free conductive design also suits operation within underground mining applications where hazardous, flammable gas is present. The pumps and surge suppressors can be safely operated in environments where explosive gases, vapor, or dust are present in the atmosphere.
