The chemical industry faces litigation, tougher regulation, a lack of viable replacements and the search for appropriate technologies to deal with PFAS, according to Seán Ottewell’s recent article. He notes that BASF agreed to a settlement of $316.5 million with a nationwide class of public water systems that detected PFAS in their drinking water sources. BASF has had a rough go lately.
